My comments on tutoring ADD/ADHD : I am very patient and have worked with children with multiple challenges including ADD/ADHD and autism.

I have taught Early Childhood Education since 2000 to 2002 at Angel Academy Preschool. Later, I worked with children through the Y.M.C.A of Port Huron, Michigan and Lenawee County, Michigan. I helped school age children with homework in the afternoons and during the day taught preschool. While attending junior College I tutored students struggling with math. After graduating college I began substitute teaching in Michigan for elementary school children. I became a mother in 2011 and stayed home with my children for a few years, and then went back to substituting. In 2016, I earned my certification in Missouri and have worked with preschool age and elementary age children for the past 4.5 years.
I prefer a hybrid teaching style. If a standard teaching style was working for the student then they most likely would not need tutoring.

My comments on tutoring ADD/ADHD : 8 + years experience working with children with ADD/ADHD

I like to use alternative methods of teaching. If you or your child is not grasping/learning the subject, using traditional teaching methods; I will try different ways of teaching the materials, till we find one that works for you or your child.

"Every child can learn."

My passion is education and I have more than thirty successful years of teaching students with diverse learning abilities and learning styles. A Little Bit About Me...

My #1 goal is to help each of my students reach his or her ultimate academic potential. Every student has the ability to succeed academically. I believe that children learn best when concepts can be taught/explained to them in their own terms. Once a common ground can be extablished between student and teacher the learning process becomes much easier and the students gain the understanding that ultimately leads to academic stability.
I am a high school business and computer teacher. I have taught for 5 years. I throughly enjoy working with and getting to know my students. I consistently work with students to help them excel both in my course work and in their other classes. In addition to having a strong background in business and computers, I was also a communications major, thus I am confident in my ability to help students succeed in the public speaking and language arts. A Little Bit About Me...

In the classroom I like to find the balance between high energy learning and thoughtful practice. As a tutor I have found that I am friendly and understanding and that these characteristics help students relax and learn. I feel that I am funny, but I have seen my fair share of middle school eye rolls and sighs! My goal is to see children learn and achieve in education and I believe educational progress is something a teacher should see after spending time with a student. I feel that I am a memorable teacher and that I have left a positive impression on each and every student that I have had contact with over the last 10 years.

More About This Tutor...

Although it has taken me a long time to find my true calling, I can honestly say that I have. I simply love teaching and working with children. I have a desire to help all students learn to their abilities in a supportive and constructive environment. All students have their own unique style of learning and it is the educator’s responsibility to determine that style and work to bring a student's hidden skills to the surface. A Little Bit About Me...

Throughout my education, English and writing have always been my best subjects. I am currently a junior at Rockhurst University studying children's speech therapy, and I have 2 years experience teaching English as a second language in Thailand. I have tutored many students of all ages while working abroad, and my experiences have developed into a passion for helping others become better in all subjects.

When I began teaching myself, I developed a style that allows the children to think for themselves in order to gain academic success. My goals are to provide the student with the critical thinking skills necessary to solve problems and reach their true potential.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have always enjoyed working with children, especially in a school setting. I am very good at working one-on-one with people and tailoring my communication and teaching style to best fit the student or listener. I am very keen at ascertaining the needs and personalities of many different people and I am very patient and adept at listening. I enjoy seeing a child's eyes light up once he or she has grasped a difficult concept or conquered a tough subject. I believe that education is one of the most influential forces in shaping a child's development and I love to get the opportunity to be a part of that.
