Practiced for years as an attorney for NYS. Semi-retired now. I have also been a tutor with the Literacy Volunteers of America (LVA) in Albany, NY. I met with a Korean graduate student at U. Albany and helped him learn English. I am also able to help in foreign language tutoring with German and French. I was trained well by the Literacy volunteers of America. I believe that my style is to help the student with repetition, while still making learning fun, via conversation and connecting the importance of what is being learned to every day life.

I have experience working with adults but I love working with children as well. I have the ability to manipulate the way I teach that will maximize the learning for each individual. I'm am a very personal and creative person thats wants everyone to succeed in their academics. While studying for my undergrad in economics I found a passion in helping others succeed as I was. I often held study sessions with groups ranging from 2- 10 people at least twice a week. When during these sessions if an individual felt lost, I would often meet with them at a later date to coach them separately. Slow learners require a few tricks along the way such as nmonic devices or other reading assistant tools. I received a technology degree in 1975. Several years later I returned to college to persue a Physics/Mechanical Engineering Degree from SUNY New Paltz and RPI. One of the things I enjoy more than anything is helping someone to understand not only the specific principals of the subject matter, but the WHYS and WHEREFORES so that as that student encounters real world examples he/she will quickly be able to adapt and be successful.
