A Little Bit About Me...

I'm a senior in high school, and I tutor classmates and my younger brother age 11 and his friends. He is in the fifth grade, and it is really easy to tutor him. I work part time as a receptionist, and I am CPR and babysitting certified. I have been around children, and have had very high grades my whole life.

I have a strong background in English grammar and composition as well as the basic sciences-especially geology and geography (Master of Science degree). This includes a lifetime "A" avgerage in English spelling, grammar, and composition, a 15-unit "A" grade on my master's thesis, as well as experience as a college English Tutor and college notetaker for the disabled. I also earned an "A" average for all Geogrpahy/Earth Sciences-related subjects. These attributes help make me a well-rounded candidate for tutoring.

I am patient, have a good sense of humor, and strive to help students achieve to their ability. I have great faith in children's ability to develop proficiency in any content as long as they have adequate support. One size does not fit all in education and I use differentiation and different teaching modalities, with a lot of realia and manipulatives, to meet the students' learning styles and preferences, and the content area.
