I have over 10 years of experience in the education field with a special love for tutoring Mathematics. My experience is extensive as I ran my own tutoring business for 3 years doing mostly freelance work in college. The unique thing about my experience is that I have tutored ages 8-28 through my many recipients. I have a knack for getting children and adults excited to learn whether it is through motivation outside the subject area, or showing them that they can in fact do this.

I have taught or worked with preschoolers through 5th graders. I've worked with special needs children, as well (ADD/ADHD, LD, ED, and ODD, for example). I have been working with Elementary age children since High School as a coach, mentor, babysitter, and volunteer. I have served as an after-school director as well as a small group tutor in a half way house for abused women. I currently teach 5th grade Special Education in a collaborative setting. I have taught all subjects, and am very comfortable with each subject. I have worked with the Wilson Reading program to help my students who have severe decoding deficits.
I've realized over the last four years that students want to learn and do well. I enjoy watching students when they grasp onto a concept they originally thought was too difficult.
