I try to teach conversationally and help students get comfortable with the process of doing the problems over just giving the answers. I tend to go with asking questions as a default--I've found it really helps learning, especially with classes like math that are more about understanding the process than regurgitating answers--but during those times we all have when you have no idea where to start, I'm happy to explain it out! A Little Bit About Me...

With over 15 years of corporate work history as a Materials Science Engineer I possess a wealth of experience in research and end-use applications. That experience is enhanced by a foundation in mathematics and advanced sciences from the number four engineering school in the nation. I am currently pursuing my masters in mechanical engineering from the University of Washington.
I tend to teach from theory to application whenever possible. Realizing the benefits in industry tends to drive home the potential for actually applying what you learn in some of the more "obscure" sciences.
