I love working with children and with adults. I especially enjoy watching a child's eyes light up when something makes sense. I value the constructivist approach to learning and encourage learning through exploration. I provide as comfortable a learning atmosphere as possible, knowing that students learn best when the least stressed. After graduation from college, I entered the Peace Corps and moved to the country of the Federated States of Micronesia. I have lived in that area of the world for most of my teaching career. I have taught for over twenty years gaining experience on almost every level of the educational ladder. I have taught K-5th grade. I have taught in middle school programs and I have taught in high school programs. I have taught in regular classroom programs and in special education programs. I have experience tutoring having worked in Saturday Extended Day programs for at risk learners for two years. I also did tutoring on my own for several years with adult learners and young children.
