My teaching style...? I do not have only one; part of the point of tutoring is the ability to truly tailor styles/strategies to individuals or small groups. I must say that I am the funniest person I know, and I crack myself up all the time. Humor is always one of my favorite/best strategies.

I started out tutoring elementary students in basic math and English grammar while I attended college part time in the 1980's. I continued tutoring young students and adults in the 1990's, tutoring Basic Math, Basic and Intermediate Algebra, Basic Geometry, English Composition, Speech, Study Skills and the Sciences. In addition, tips were given to enhance test-taking skills in hard-to-Ace subjects like Economics. Grammar is one of my top subjects!

I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts. My major was English Literature, with a double minor in French Language and Communications. I am also a certified composition peer tutor, assisting students in Composition I, Composition II, and graduate level papers. I have also written procedural instructions for positions. I have worked in the automotive and mortgage industries.
My teaching style is very holistic. I want to empower students to discover and employ their voices. I want to develop critical thinking skills, analysis, synthesis, and retention, basically, I want to help people *THINK* about what they are saying, what they are doing, to interpret the world around them. In the end, it is the student's choice whether or not they modify their papers. I believe in having a one on one discussion. I am resourceful.
