Hearing Impaired is one of my top subjects! Providing tutoring for those interested in learning sign language. I am a verbal Deaf user of Sign Language.

My focus is teaching/tutoring American Sign Language. My experience includes teaching Sign Language classes in ministries, providing Mom and Child lessons, and Providing lessons for early childhood facilities. After building your vocabulary of signed English, we can them move on to learning the language. This stage will include attending Deaf functions to have opportunities to meet and chat with others who are Deaf.

My philosophy is that education should be as individualized as possible because people do not learn in the same manner. For instance, some people are visual learners while others, like myself, are auditory learners. I strongly believe that educators should expose their students to as many fields and ideas as possible. For instance, when I am teaching, I prefer to instruct students on different topics- biology, culture and rules of the English language are particular favorites of mine. I earned my BA in English from Rhode Island College and took extensive coursework in Computer Information Systems. Since 2001, I have been working at Bradley Hospital in East Providence. As of April 2003, I have been working in a self-contained special education classroom for students with developmental disabilities and behavioral/emotional issues. Prior to my second career in the field of service to at-risk senior citizens, I taught English for four years at Westport High School.
