I was a senior scientist - engineer for 37 years. I retired to care for my comatose wife at home, and she died a few months later. This situation has left me open to new directions. My teaching experience has been 3 years as a graduate teaching assistant, and 2 years as a tutor to friends and family in science and mathematics. I love helping people and I love chemistry. I believe in using an inquiry based teaching method. What I like to do is show an example problem and have the student help me work it out by asking them questions related to the problem. Afterwords, I let them try to work a similar type problem. If they have problems then I let them explain to me where they are having trouble and we go from there.
I obtained a bachelors degree in chemistry from Auburn University. When I was at Auburn University I took as many education courses as possible.
