Computer is one of my top subjects! I hold a Master's of Science in Computer Network Information Systems. I enjoy teaching any aspect of Computer Science, and sharing my passion for this subject with my students.

I have been teaching Information Technology at both the elementary and middle-school level in private schools in Northern Virginia for most of the last ten years. In addition, I have tutored at high-school level in Chemistry and History. With both a Bachelor's Degree in History, and a Maser's degree in Network Information Systems, I am qualified to tutor in both the Social as well as the Computer Sciences, with an additional capability in Chemistry and Math at the advanced high school level.
I think that the most important aspect of tutoring is finding out why the student needs a tutor, and to get to the bottom of that, it is important to listen to the student and figure out what the barrier to learning has been. I have been blessed with professors at the university level who understand the importance of one-on-one instruction. Through the "creativity" of thoughtful instructors I have seen myself grow and develop in ways that I hadn't thought possible. Every student learns differently, and once the instructor gets to know the student well enough and is able to tailor their lessons to the needs of the student, true learning happens. As a lifelong student and advocate of learning, I achieved a GPA of 3.75 upon returning to university classes as an older adult. I have many years of working in business, coaching and mentoring in several fields, which include accounting and business practices, such as customer service. I have been a teacher for 17 years; teaching at the elementary level, high school English, plus a variety of grades and subjects while tutoring online with eSylvan. I have a MA degree with emphasis in language arts/curriculum and instruction. Currently I teach kindergarten. I have been with Lynchburg City Schools for 7 years.
