My comments on tutoring Continuing Education : My career as a teacher has taught me the importance of extending learning beyond the classroom. I have adequate knowledge on adult learning theories and practices. I differentiate instruction to meet the needs of students and to address multiple learning styles.

I was often told there were very few students who responded to their emails; however, I was one of them. I earned my Associate degree through Allegany College of Maryland. I like to take the "mystery" out of the subject. Math can be especially scary to students who don't have a strong foundation in general mathematics and reading comprehension. I am currently volunteer tutoring an adult friend in general math and I am proud to say that her understanding of the basic principles have increased dramatically in only a couple of sessions. I like to teach students how to take each problem apart into its seperate components. Once they can understand each individual component and how it works, they are able to see the entire system much more readily.
