My teaching style is very interactive. I believe in reading out-loud and having discussions about what things mean and how they may relate to other aspects of Biology. I believe that everyone has a different learning style and I will always try to find new ways of getting the point across to someone. I will not rush anyone through something just for the sake of getting it done. I am a very relaxed person and I feel like that will come through in our lessons.

My comments on tutoring Biology : I have a masters in Nutrition

I’m Lebanese which makes me fluent in Arabic, French and English. I hold a masters degree and several certificates in Nutrition. My background may not be in teaching or languages but there is no better way to learn a language than from a native! In my high school years we took Arabic courses every week for 12 years. As I have been a girl scout I also completed 36hrs of volunteer work to help rebuild schools and cooked for the homeless which makes me patient amd willing to fully help students willing to learn this language based on their goals. Helping students learn and learn how to grow

My teaching experience is broad across subjects and age levels. Learning and teaching excite me and I like to think that attitude rubs off on my students. It can be fun to learn, and even those subjects a student does not find enjoyable, can prove satisfying. I've taught middle school and high school, as well as at Bellevue College, Renton technical College, and North Seattle Community College. I was a senior scientist - engineer for 37 years. I retired to care for my comatose wife at home, and she died a few months later. This situation has left me open to new directions. Over the last 15 years, I have worked in various different areas. First, I taught adult ESL, and had occasional tutoring gigs with Russian speakers learning English, and some English speakers learning Russian. Currently, I work as a special education teacher. Part of my job is to work in small ratios with honors students who have disabilities. This "study skills" class often requires one-on-one tutoring.
