I am a driven individual who has obtained a Masters in Social Work with a concentration in Child Welfare in addition to a BA in Psychology with a minor in Sociology. I graduated from Texas A&M University in 2008 with a BBA in Accounting. I am currently completing my MS in Accounting through the University of Connecticut through their distance learning program. I earned a 3.0 at Texas A&M while working a full-time accounting job and I currently have a 3.93 at University of Connecticut, whihc I have also earned while maintaining a full-time job. I believe in personal interaction with students – making them write, making them read – going over every detail, looking at the issues (grammar, punctuation, syntax, coherent structure (logic, unity, transitions, parallelism,)) and then re-writing and re-reading. The key to doing well in English is understanding basic structure and making it become second nature when writing. Through personal interaction, the process can be simplified by working hands on with each sentence and paragraph. A student learns best when he/she actually reads and writes and has someone to work with on the structure – through a workshop type approach – writing and re-writing.
