Elementary and Middle School Tutoring

2012-2013-SES Tutor, Escambia County, Florida- Provided tutoring for elementary aged students via a vendor for the county, Tutored Reading and Comprehension and Math to students who did not score well on standardized tests. 2010-2013-Private Tutor for several companies and independently, Tutored students of all ages in a variety of subjects at local libraries and in their homes.
One on one approach using a variety of instructional materials such as workbooks, worksheets, diagrams, flash cards, independent writing assignments and educational websites to promote and improve learning skills. I started tutoring math when I attended Faulkner State College. I then attended the University of South Alabama where I tutored math and physics. I have tutored all levels of math and also tutored not only physics, but lab activites as well.
I have always been a quick learner when it comes to mathematics. It is something that comes almost natural to me. With that said, I understand that this is not the case for everyone. I feel that a good majority of people hate math because they don't understand math, and because they don't understand math right away, they don't try to understand it. I had a wise professor once tell me, "Math isn't difficult; there is no such thing as difficult math. It just seems difficult because you haven't learned it yet". I think math can be easy for anyone, they just have to learn it first.
