A Little Bit About Me...

I have always had an interest in math and science, and I got my start tutoring in high school by helping fellow classmates and friends in these subjects. I went on to earn my BS in Mechanical Engineering from U.T. Austin. I have also spent much of my life in the world of music and began teaching beginner piano lessons several months ago. If the subject matter is analytical and involves numbers, I can certainly help you figure it out.
I enjoy working with children of all ages, but particularly excel with more mature students trying to tackle more difficult subject matter. My previous four year work experience as a engineering, math and physics tutor has taught me how to work well with others by communicating complicated ideas in a simple easy to understand manner. During my experience as a tutor, I effectively solved problems daily while working with team members to formulate solutions for our students. I demonstrated a strong work ethic and would regularly help students after closing time. During my time tutoring I tutored mainly Calculus, Algebra, Trigonometry and Physics I.
I believe students learn by example. I first like to try some examples then let the students try some on their own. After I have shown a few examples I listen to the student talk about any misunderstanding they might have about the concepts. This way I can easily pinpoint what ideas are being missed and correct the problem by practicing more relevant examples.
