Teaching is my passion. My teaching style is to first evaluate the extent of the student's knowledge in the specific subject area and then start from the beginning and brush up, filling the gaps in knowledge. I work quite well with non-traditional learners and use props when I need to. Sometimes I find that this is the best approach for visual learners. I always look for alternative ways to teach a subject, if I need to. There is, after all, more than one route to the market.
My Ivy league graduate engineering degree and two bachelors degrees( Computer Engineering, Chemistry) demonstrate my strong mathematics and science skills. I love teaching and helping children pursue their dreams. I believe that all children can be successful if given the right time and role models. I am a friendly, patient, and easy going guy. I am willing to help any student in whichever way possible achieve and believe they can be successful.
Since my elementary years I've always been a student driven to succeed and pursue higher levels of education. Recently I've graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor's of Science in Civil Engineering which has enabled me to gain an understanding in many areas of math and science. I can also speak and handle any questions in Spanish at an intermediate level. Furthermore, I served as a junior mentor in the CADS (Center for Alcohol and Drug Services) after school program, tutoring and leading the kids in organized fun.
