A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching method is to use the principle approach. Each academic subject has foundational principles that make up that subject’s core. To master a subject, a student must understand these principles and then see them expand as the student progresses through a subject. I believe students can be taught problem-solving skills, organizational skills and character-building principles through every subject. Teaching is a gift that I have been given and I want to continue using it to make a difference in my students.
For thirty-seven years I have been involved in education. Thirty-three of those years has been as a principal/teacher in private multi-grade classrooms. A Little Bit About Me...

I love helping and teaching anyone. For the first part of any session with a new tutee, I would like to understand your learning style, so we can form a plan to help you comprehend the material the best. If you do not understand something in one way I explain it, I always have different ideas or ways to help you understand. I have had to use different styles because I have worked with people with many different types of needs including dyslexia, English language learners, and learning disabilities. I am patient, I relate well to many people, and I have excellent communication skills.
I graduated in 2009 with a B.A. in English Education. I have taken 60 credits of English, and I am qualified to teach all levels and areas of English.
