A Little Bit About Me...

I have been teaching and tutoring mathematics since the age of 15. I started working at a tutoring center where the student's ages ranged from 4-15. I then moved on to college where I studied math and computer science. I was a teaching assistant for Calculus I and II. My responsibilities included leading group tutorials and working one on one in the tutoring center on campus. At graduate school I taught Calculus I, II, and III as a standalone lecturer. After I graduated from the University of Chicago I was an assistant professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I am currently a college sophomore working as a Calculus TA, I'm double majoring in Chemistry and Physics.I am a native Chinese speaker, I have experience teaching students Chinese. Experienced Tutor with Expertise in Math and Social Science

My teaching style varies for each student, I try to tailor the work to how the student learns.
I have been tutoring students of all ages since I was in high school. I began by tutoring my own peers in math and social studies. I would also tutor children from 1st grade on up in all subjects. Once in college, I tutored college students and younger in many fields, primarily mathematics courses. My specialty quickly became preparation for standardized tests as well as calculus because I have a unique ability to discover how each student learns and tailor the lessons to their needs. I can quickly find where the knowledge gaps exist for each student and fill in those gaps, in order to create a complete understanding of the topic, not just get them to memorize answers.

A Little Bit About Me...

My previous job involved the design and review of Bridges, Culverts, and storm sewers on highway projects to insure completeness and accuracy. I also was involved in the development of drainage Designs and Hydraulic models for Highway Projects. Part of my job was to assist Drainage Designers with drainage design criteria and drainage design software issues. As a member of the Project Team, I would be a part of the discussion and decision making on required design exceptions, highway designs, and alternative selection based on cost, highway safety, maintenance preferences, ease of construction, and public involvement issues.

I graduated from Ohio State with a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering. During my High School career, I tutored many of my friends in Trignometry, Physics and Calculus. During my college years, I had a broad exposure to Math and Science. I volunteered at the Chemistry and Math lab few hours a week to help students with basic college level chemistry and math courses.
