Experienced Tutor with Expertise in Math and Social Science

I have been tutoring students of all ages since I was in high school. I began by tutoring my own peers in math and social studies. I would also tutor children from 1st grade on up in all subjects. Once in college, I tutored college students and younger in many fields, primarily mathematics courses. My specialty quickly became preparation for standardized tests as well as calculus because I have a unique ability to discover how each student learns and tailor the lessons to their needs. I focus on the concepts of mathematics. I use graphical techniques to emphasis the concepts being taught. With these concepts in mind, physics can be a fun and interested to learn.

I returned to UK to pursue a doctorate in math and was assistant to the chair of the math department. During this time, I taught 2 undergraduate courses per semester from 1966-77. In 1977, I became Assistant Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, a position I held until I retired in 2005.
