I have several years experience teaching, tutoring, mentoring, training and coaching children and adults from birth to age 85 in several various subjects and fields. I have my BS in Early Childhood Education as well as Special Education and have tremendous experience with children and adults with all types of disabilities, learning impairments and delays both physical and emotional in addition to academic. In addition to being a teacher, I am also a personal trainer, nutrition coach and recovery coach for girls and woman battling eating disorders. A Little Bit About Me...

I have extensive experience tutoring and mentoring students in creative writing and composition arenas. As lead teaching assistant for entry-level undergraduate Creative Writing courses at Oberlin College, I facilitated small group workshops, provided students with feedback on their writing, and wrote lesson plans designed to help each individual improve technically as a writer. I met weekly with individual students to provide stream-lined, individualized feedback. Last summer I worked in Harare, Zimbabwe as a teacher of Creative Writing. I lead workshops in poetry and prose. I have experience editing and teaching advanced topics in writing. I would love to work with you.

I am currently a Special Education Teacher within the Cobleskill-Richmondville Central School District for the 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 school years. Prior to my employment there I was a building substitute within the Albany City School District as well as a certified BOCES substitute approved through many schools throughout the Capital Region. I completed my Masters at the University at Albany in Summer of 2013 in both Special Education and Literacy. During this program I completed several internships to prepare me for specific Special Education as well as Literacy instruction. My teaching style is very structured and organized. I teach with the style that every child is unique and learns at their own style and pace. I do not believe in rushing learning nor that every skill, style, environment or learning setting works for every student. My teaching style also mirrors the idea that children learn through hands on, interactive, tactile, and motivating experiences, resources and materials.
