I realize that learning reading and writing skills can be difficult. When I teach young people, I work to push each person patiently but constantly to improve with each lesson. Each person learns a little differently, and I like to learn the student’s strengths and weaknesses and work from there. I support hands-on learning. There is only so much a person can talk about writing. The best way to learn writing is to write. The best way to improve reading comprehension is to read. Reading unlocks vocabulary. And a good vocabulary helps in written and verbal communication. I am a very patient teacher. If it seems someone is 'just not getting it' I will try a different approach. People learn at different levels, and what works for one does not always work for another; therefore,finding the way for each individual student is the key. I have also found that most people learn a task by 'hands on' learning, not listening to how it should be done.
