A Little Bit About Me...

I want to help my students break down what they might think is a complicated subject, into incredibly simple digestible segments, and hopefully have some fun with the subject along the way.
I have an Associate Degree in Mathematics from Porterville College. GPA of 3.8. Working towards Computer Engineering Major at California State University Bakersfield.I have tutor some of my fellow friends from my Calculus and Physics class. I am familiar I have also taught elementary school mathematics at traditional high school and at a Charter High School in the Central Valley and in San Jose Ca. I have over four years experience tutoring students, both at university level and high school level.
I offer a tailored approach to each student, establishing the particular areas of strength and weakness. I aim to establish or reestablish interest in math and also to teach exam techniques. My tutoring is to focus and prior knowledge and to reinforce new information to the student. I first discovered my love for teaching in high school. I excelled in many areas and helped my fellow students learn. As I furthered my education, my passion for teaching grew and my style changed. I have molded my favorite, and most effective, professor's techniques into my own hybrid. I use humor and compassion to develop the student's understanding. I try to teach to the student and not at them. I teach study habits that will help them learn more effectively on their own.
I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Chemisty with a minor in statistics. As an undergraduate, I tutored middle-schoolers in science and math as a volunteer at a local school.
