My comments on tutoring Homework Help : Strong proficiency in math subjects, but willing to assist in other subjects.

I generally work through an example while explaining. Then as the student works the problems, I instruct by asking prompting questions with decreasing frequency until the student can complete problems without any assistance.
While completing my degree, I worked in the math department as a tutor. I often had several students with various subjects simultaneously. It was a challenge to constantly switch topics, but I apparently did it so well that I almost had a regular class that showed up every time I was on duty. Several students told me that I explained things on a level they could understand as opposed to the high-level language the professor used. I have also done private tutoring since then.

Passionate Elementary Education Tutor

Everyone needs help now and again!

I have worked with children ages 5 and up for a few years now. I have 3 siblings all 8 years or more younger than me, and have had lots of experience with children in elementary school. B.S. Elementary ed with math minor. Certified in PA. (moved and did not renew) After raising two sons, I entered the business world using my math and negotiation skills in the finance/AR-credit division. I recently relocated to Texas and began to substitute elementary grades 1-6.
