My comments on tutoring Vocals : Love to sing and enjoy teaching Hindustani classical vocal lessons

I have more than 10yrs of experience in tutoring Chemistry and biology to High school students as well as Undergrad students both in person and online. I earned my Masters degree in Chemistry and did my Ph.D in Medicinal chemistry. Have worked in Academics for nearly 14yrs. I also have experience teaching Hindustani vocal lessons to both adults and kids. I have had the experience of being trained from well known artist Pandita Tripti Mukherji who is leading disciple of living Legendary vocalist Pandit Jasraj.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have served as an instrumental music educator under contract for three years; I have been a substitute teacher in public schools for fifteen years. I have taught all grade levels. I have learned extensive grammatical skills due to writing research papers as a graduate student. I have tutuored many students primarily on musical instruments.
I love teaching and working with all children. Every child is different in their personalities. I am patient, easy going and considerate. My goal is to provide the best education possible. In addition to my music skills, I also have studied accounting at the local community college, and earned an accounting certificate. Free and unconstrained autobiographical writing is one of the best ways to coax a student insecure about his or her writing skills into putting into words intense experiences from their own life. I tell my students to just tell me in their own words what they are trying to say. When they speak aloud, the words flow, and then I say, "There is your opening sentence right there. Quick! Write it down." At other times, I ask them to pretend that they are really someone else, an actor in a television show, for example, and I have them imagine that the character, not they themselves, are speaking. This releases the student to let go of inhibitions and let the film roll "for the character" and then they stop focusing on themselves.
