A Little Bit About Me...

I have been tutoring ever since elementary school. Since I was the only one that knew how to read, I had to assist in the others' learning of Phonetic sounds. I've also tutored fellow classmates in middle school, high school, and college. If I don't know how to approach a certain topic, I ask for the assistance of some of my former professors because they know I'm trying to help other students.

Love to Teach

I have always believed in "connecting the dots." Knowledge and learning cannot be strictly confined to subject-area teaching. For example, many academic subjects can be studied while one writes, makes art, to creates stories, practices problem solving, or invents solutions to problems we are facing in this modern age. Listening to students and providing opportunities for them to demonstrate knowledge is very important. I never want learning to bore a student. It takes two to tutor...and tango!

I am an English major at the University of South Carolina Beaufort in my final semester of study and will be graduating in December with a BA and a concentration in writing. Though I have never formally been a tutor, I have always been the person that my friends have gone to for help with composing papers, interpreting and analyzing passages of literature, and general study skills for how to improve their writing and/or reading abilities.
