Most of my primary education experience involved me in music. I played the piano for 16 years, cello for 9 and self taught the violin and some other instruments. I prefer tutoring with stringed instruments. I then transitioned to sports like tennis and soccer. In college, after changing degrees a couple times, I graduated with a BS in Biology, minored in Chemistry with a Pre-Med certificate. Currently I am working on my own to sell patents with an Israeli scientist. On the side, I study Russian and Hebrew.
I have private tutored almost all throughout college, mostly because I had many international friends in desperate need for English help. During my high school years I would volunteer to help children through various charities and church. When I attended college I became an Early Childhood Education major and volunteered in preschool and elementary schools. During my Student Teaching in Des Plaines I was in complete control of a Kindergarten classroom and later a 2nd Grade class. After graduating I began working in a daycare where I created activities for children as young as 3 years old and activities and homework help for elementary students as old as 13.
When I am teaching I am very patient and try to organize the lesson or my assistance in steps. I'll have the child read the problem or question, ask what they know about it, see if they understand the question and proceed.
