My comments on tutoring Calculus II : More than 2 decades of teaching experience.

I use a variety of teaching styles to involve students in the learning process: in traditional and computer-mediated classroom settings, and over the internet. The traditional teaching style (face-to-face interaction) was blended with technology (such as online discussions and assignments) for a boosted learning environment. I believe in a pretty simple rule; repeat, repeat, repeat. Learning math and physics through example is the best way. Repeating these examples is a sure way to success. They student may not like math or physics, but once they start to do well in it they'll come to love it.
During my studies at SUNY Buffalo I tutored in Regents Math which I also took when I was in high school. In Virginia Tech I was a Graduate Research Assistant. I would say that the greatest personal attribute that the Lord has given me when it comes to teaching is patience. I allow the student the time that it takes them in order for them to "get it" without pressuring them. I also like to make the material as simple as possible by teaching in a manner where I like to emphasize understanding as opposed to just being able to do it. And typically I find the best way to offer enlightenment to the student is to take whatever concept it is that I am trying to convey to them and draw an analogy to something basic that they do understand to help bridge the gap to the new concept (the same thing that the Lord Jesus Christ did - John 3:12).
