Although I have little teaching experience, I love working with all ages of people. I'm sure I would have a different approach to teaching/tutoring because I have not had any education classes or experience. I would offer a more business/economical outlook on mathmatical skills. A Little Bit About Me...

I love tutoring and working with children to young adults. The internet provides a lot of information but the joy of going to the library to discover new worlds, knowledge or just for the fun of it is still a worthwhile venture. I have tutored students who truly abhored reading but when we read about New York City and took them to the places of interest we studied and it truly got them excited about the next book. My methods are varied but consistent. I teach outdoors weather permitting on field trips and with themes to keep the child interested and wanting to read and learn.

I believe effective learning can occur in a 1-on-1 tutoring situation when the tutor and the student can communicate well. Tone, mood, and setting all come into play. A tutor who is relaxed, cheerful, encouraging, and resolutely intelligent is more likely to be approachable and someone the student will collaborate with successfully. I believe in active listening and working together to establish a method of studying.
I took high school and college seriously. After college I worked for several years before attending law school. After law school I decided to combine my legal experience with hands-on medical skills, and I enrolled in a Registered Nurse program at SUNY Delhi, which I will complete next May. This summer is a lull before completing my education and embarking on a medical administration career.
