I am an educator and a writer. I have online and ground classroom college teaching experience. Currently, I write web content for iParadigms, a company that developed plagiarism detection software. I recently developed the web content for their online writing center. I also write an adult education column for Examiner.com.

I feel very comfortable dealing with the technical side of the English language--that is, the grammatical side. I am also quite comfortable discussing theme, characters, and various plot devices in novels. During high school, I excelled in the Advanced Placement English programs, and in my time at Penn State University, I have taken a number of honors courses to further my education, focusing my studies on writing; additionally, I have completed an editorial internship, writing and editing numerous articles for both magazines and newspapers in the State College area. My degree from Penn State is a Bachelor of Arts in English with an emphasis on publishing.

I believe that every child has the unalienable right to experience some success each and every day of their lives. My approach is hands-on, student centered and nurturing. I believe in learning by discovery and the use of manipulatives in a manner whereby the student learns without even knowing it. The discovery approach is best to grasping knowledge but to process any and all information is tantamount. Knowing what to do with the information is far more important than just possessing it.
