My comments on tutoring Basic Learning Skills : The ability to think critically, to think creatively, to collaborate and to communicate well are skills that foster engagement in the learning process and I enjoy teaching these skills to students in the course of interacting around the subjects they study as well as around the challenges that they encounter. I am a behavioral specialist with 12 years of experience working with individuals between the ages of 2 and 19 who have been diagnosed with ADD/ADHD, Traumatic Brain Injury, emotional disturbance, Autism, Downs Syndrome, and other developmental disorders. This is what I love doing, and I have the patience to reteach in multiple ways over multiple days. An understanding tutor

I have worked with all grade levrls as substitute school teacher with range from pre k to 12th grade and worked for a tutoring company while turoring an elementary student in math. I have a masters degree and while obtaining my degrees, I am very familiar with test preparation. I have taken basic computer classes in the past and I am more than able to teach the basics such as how to save a file.
The teaching style that I have always promoted is to recognize that everyone learns on a different level and at a different pace. I use note-cards and mnemonics. I'm also fond of repetition (which will allow the student to obviously retain the information) and often do reviews at the end of a session to further examine what said student is struggling with.
So far I have only tutored one student for a year or so. However, I am very knowledgeable in these subjects and hope to make the best of your child's tutoring experience.
