I love making lessons fun and interactive for children. If a children does not understand a concept one way I find other ways to explain it. When I was in elementary school I would help my mother with daycare at our home. I would teach the children new concepts and play with them. During high school I joined the pathfinder club and taught some of the younger children. During college, I tutored elementary children in reading and in math and would make interventions for them. I graduated from Southern Adventist University December 2018 with a bachelors in elementary education. I have spent time substitute teaching in elementary classrooms, working as a behavior teachers assistant, and working at summer camps.

I lived in Belarus from ages 13 to 20 with my parents, who were missionaries. I learned to speak, read, and write in Russian within the first year. I served in our local church by teaching Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, helping in summer camps, leading youth group activities, translating for American visitors, and generally being quite involved in all aspects of my parents' ministry. I have tutored informally throughout high school and college, both my fellow peers and lower income students. I was part of an ESL mentoring high school program during my time in New York. During my time at college, I created a mentoring committee for underclassman that focused on business related items and school curriculum. As I spent most of my time in groups studying, I learned that I was very good at explaining principles and material, regardless of subject matter. I am patient, warm, and pleasant. What I do is not so much teach the material as a way to learn the material. My methods are to understand the subject matter the students are weak on and learn it with them, displaying that it takes time learning anything and most of the work in understanding subjects are difficult.
