I have taken many Latin courses including an advanced level university course. I have been an avid student of French for eleven years and recently received my B.A. in French from an accredited university. I have traveled to France on different occasions. I have excellent grammar skills and pronunciation. I have worked as a personal tutor in the past with excellent results, my students got A's on their coursework. I have taken many language courses thus I know what works for English speakers and what does not. I want my teaching to be fun but the work cannot take a back seat to amusement. I currently have a bachelors degree in sociology with a minor in elementary education. During the past 4 years and working in the early childhood education industry I realized that many teachers were not getting the proper training that they needed to receive to help the children that they are serving. Once I realized this I decided to work on my Master's degree in Early Childhood Education in hopes that i could be an Early Childhood College Professor and teach students the ins and outs of the early childhood industry. While getting my bachelors degree I tutored in subjects such as reading,writing, math, and science as well as art. I believe that all students learn differently and should be treated as so; with this being said i believe that each student should work at their own pace and should be helped to find strategies that help them learn.

I believe all students can learn. I strive to accomplish this by basing my teaching style upon the learning style of my students. In my classroom I implement discovery and inquiry as an approach to learning. Currently as a reading specialist I focus on individualization because at the secondary level each student has unique needs. In addition, I work to incorporate reading across the curriculum to help my students develop the skills needed to read and comprehend the textbooks in all the disciplines.
