After receiving my bachelor's degree, I went to school part time to work on my Master's degree while subbing in area schools. I accepted a position as a teaching assistant, and two long term positions. I also tutored a junior high school student in all subjects.

I have put a lot of thought and effort into my teaching style. I love teaching and love working with all types of students. I believe in learning through a hands-on approach and through real-world applications. I beleive that all students have the potential to succeed and there is no such thing as a "dumb kid." A Little Bit About Me...

Currently, I work for the Saratoga Springs and Ballston Spa school districts as a home instructor for grades 6 to 12. I enjoy working with the kids one on one and feel wonderful about helping them stay up to date with their school work until they are physically able to return to the regular classroom setting. Aside from home instruction, I also work regularly as a substitute for Saratoga County schools, and have built up a great working relationship with all faculty and students in each building that I am assigned. Prior to working for Saratoga Springs, I taught 1st grade for two years at PS 325 which is located in Manhattan. A Little Bit About Me...

My area of expertise and greatest joy have always been reading and writing, from childhood on. My dual degree is in magazine journalism and linguistics. These skills have enabled me to work in the New York City publishing industry in a variety of editorial positions. Here in the capital district, my favorite job has been project manager at a language services provider, where I could use my French and even my Norwegian while placing and producing translations.
