A Little Bit About Me...

My name is Jim, and I'm excited to have the opportunity to be your or your child's tutor.I am a junior at Georgia Tech now. I have a double major of mechanical and computer science. My GPA is 3.7, and I got a full score of math in all my ACT tests. Also, I am top 25% students in my major. Since 2012, I have taught TOEFL, SAT, ACT and Chinese to students at test-prep and language. I am now doing co-op program in washington, GA.
I review concepts until it's clear that the student has mastered them, and new ones are introduced only when the student is ready. In addition to increasing my students' scores, I help students take ownership of their learning, with the goal of making them an independent and successful student.

A Little Bit About Me...

As a teacher of three years, math is my life. I enjoy teaching math and have completed a math degree at Georgia College and State University. I am almost finished with my Masters in Secondary Mathematics. I am familiar with all levels of Mathematics from Algebra to the higher level math courses.
I have learned that all students learn differently. I am patient and like to determine how the student learns first so I can better assist them. It is hard to make math fun but I try to show students the real world applications of math and do hands on activities. My goal is to provide ensight to students so that they can become successful adults.

It is my belief that every person learns differently. Students learn best by different methods and learn at different methods. I find that the best way to tech a student, especially in a one on one environment is to find how the individual best learns and use that, rather than trying to teach by any already formulated method.
As an engineering graduate from Georgia Tech, I have a high level of skill in mathematics, from algebra to calculus and differential equations, and in sciences, especially physics. I am a United States Air Force veteran and I was responsible for training new airmen on the proper operation and maintenance of survey equipment. I assisted many of my co-workers with math modelling and geometry while they were pursuing their civil engineering degrees. I have 2 Bachelor degrees, BS in Civil Engineering from Georgia Tech (GPA 3.29) and BS in Science from Georgia College and State University(GPA 3.72).
