A Little Bit About Me...

Since I was younger, I have always been interested in teaching children. I have babysat for neighbors, tutored children at the elementary level, and I worked at two daycare centers as a Pre-K head teacher. I attended SUNY Oswego and received my bachelor's degree in Childhood Education 1-6 in May 2008. I also received that year my NYS Teaching Certificate. My last semester of college, I student taught in a fifth grade classroom for seven weeks and a second grade classroom for seven weeks. It was the greatest experience I have ever had. My approach to tutoring is to first make the student feel comfortable and to realize that they are not "stupid" or inferior because they need help. Then I find out specifically where they are having difficulties and concentrate on that area. If they still are having difficulties in that area, I will move on to the next topic so that they don't get frustrated.
