Teaching Style: I use many techniques to teach. I first teach according to learning style. This has been EXTREMELY beneficial in my experience and I have seen great results. I also use many aspects of the Cognitive learning theory which states that children learn best when they are motivated to learn. By doing this, children don't just memorize facts. Psychology is one of my top subjects!

While at the University of Tulsa I have tutored in both math and chemistry, so I have experience with those subjects in particular. Though I received a bachelors in Psychology I was also pre-med, so I was required to take several heavy science courses as well. As such I am also proficient in several biological subjects.
Generally I will try to ask questions to see which specific points a student needs assistance with and make sure they understand the material on a fundamental level. I also believe that practice and hands-on experiences teach the most, so there tends to be an emphasis on working through problems step-by-step than lecturing. Ultimately I am flexible, and can change my style and routine to accommodate the students' needs.

A Little Bit About Me...

Due to my changing Majors as a junior, I received a Bachelors Degree with a double major, Biology and Education. My Minor was in English. I was pleasantly surprised when my Certificate in Oklahoma qualified me to teach seventeen fields. I have had the privilege of teaching nearly every discipline at the grade levels of seventh thru twelfth. In addition the District selected me to train to work with at risk students. One of my many assignments was in school suspension that required tutoring those students in the completion of their studies.

Likewise, I believe lack of effort or motivation also play a significant roll when a student performs poorly.
