A Little Bit About Me...

I really enjoy kids and helping them to think highly of themselves above all. I do not have any direct teaching experience, however I have done many hours of volunteering at my former church. Kids take to me. I know how to talk to them, without talking down to them.
I am an avid writer of short stories and poetry, as well as song lyrics. I am an excellent public speaker and earned an A in this subject in college. If they see a reason to want the knowledge, and see how it can expand their horizons, then they will be more open to learning. A common problem with individuals needing tutoring is that they sometimes do not think they have the "smarts" to learn the subject. My first objective is to show them they have the "stuff" to get it! Then I show them how it can be fun. This needs to be balanced with the practical need to get passing grades and complete the course work.
