My comments on tutoring World History : I can certainly teach World History at a basic level.

I try to engage my student, to tease the learning out of him or her. I have learned to explain, to give the information then to step back, allowing my student to think through to the conclusion. This involves silence sometimes, and the student talking more while I talk less, something not so easy for a teacher of Italian descent. Experiences has shown, however, that it often works.

During that time I spent two years teaching composition and argumentation at Bowling Green State University to cover college level essay writing which required both classroom and individual tutoring outside of class. I have presented lectures and am comfortable in front of others and take a very professional approach to the material. During my tenure at Buffalo State College, I volunteered at the Equal Opportunity Program, where my main strength was utilized by actively tutoring students in the art of the english essay. I was able to tutor these students and advise them in the general format of the essay. We began by procurring a general introduction, or a statement of fact,followed by the body of the essay, descriptive references, and tying it all together with a summary that proves the point that you have set out to make.
