I believe if we can integrate content with cross-curricular themes and skills such as writing across the curriculum in all subjects, not just during the language arts block, All students can access prior knowledge and reframe their thinking when appropriate. I have explored a variety of areas including fibers, painting, drawing, 3-D, mixed media, collage, clay, graphic design, etc. Skills from all academic areas are used in the arts from math to history. A Little Bit About Me...

While attending Bates College, I was motivated academically to achieve the best education possible. I sought out teachers who inspired me to work harder and enjoyed participating in chapel services, community service activities and participating in competitive sporting events. During school vacations, I explored jobs that followed my academic strengths. To date, I have earned two degrees, a BA in English from Bates College and a M.Ed. in Curriculum Development from Lesley University. A Little Bit About Me...

I have worked with students who were given up on years before, but once the met me, they evolved and became what so many said they never would become, educated.Vgotsky talked about the zone of proximal development and potential. I believe I teach to reach the highest level of potential and often come very close.
