Since then I have worked in a summer program tutoring elementary ESL students, gone on to graduate with degrees in English and Environmental Studies, and most recently, worked as an Americorps member at Andersen Elementary and Open in Minneapolis. A Little Bit About Me...

As a recent college graduate, I know how to work hard. I earned a bachelor degree, BS in Marine Biology from UC Santa Cruz, where I took many science and math classes. I do not have any experience in tutoring, but I have been a mentor to kids in other jobs I have had.
In the job I had where I mentored kids, it was a program called Lil Kickers. This program was for kids 3-10 years old where they were taught how to listen to instructions and communicate with one another. I take a look at what the existing instruction materials are attempting to convey and I add to that or expound on that. I use Google extensively to look for similar examples to the problems the student might be having. I believe that it is best to solve any given problem in at least two different ways if you really want to get some insight. It also helps in either verifying your answer or checking if you are in the ballpark.
