I am a third year college student at Grand Valley State University. I have taken most of the major sciences such as chemistry, physiology and anatomy or micro and genetics. I test out algebra so I didnt have to take college algebra. I recalled my difficulties in learning difficult subjects, my difficulties are not universal but I draw from them in finding what is blocking the student from grasping certain concepts. I recall teaching my children at a very early age the concept of ratios. I used windows, tiles from the kitchen, a pizza pie etc. This, before going to pencil and paper and it worked.
