I taught 5 years of high school level science(chemistry, physics, biology, physical science), 3 years at university level, 1 year of chemistry at community college level. . During 5 years of teaching at the high school level, I worked with students rather than just lecturing to them. I developed a student centered understanding of what helps students learn. I brought the course material together in a way that was much easier for students to understand and remember. Student responses showed that they were successful in further pulling together the material to form their own understanding of the course content.

I earned my AA and then pursued a BS degree in chemistry. After college I worked at a pharmaceutical manufacturing site working in the quality control department. I worked my way to lead laboratory technician then to the supervisor of the lab. During this tenure I was responsible for training the other technicians in methods and new techniques. I also helped develop a new system of training to help decrease the time needed to train an individual and remove unnecessary redundant tactics. A Little Bit About Me...

During my Associates degree, I enjoyed the opportunity to work in the Excel/SSS student-tutoring department. I was recommended by several of my professors to tutor in the subjects of chemistry and mathematics. I tutored in subjects ranging from introduction to chemistry to general chemistry 1 along with mathematics subject from basic mathematics all the way to calculus 1. I enjoyed working with students very much and helping them to achieve above satisfactory. I always seemed to find a way to help the student to understand the subject matter. A Little Bit About Me...

My educational background is in chemistry and chemical engineering. My professional experience is in manufacturing, specifically in the area of specialty chemicals. I enjoyed the fast pace of the manufacturing environment, but have since moved from the Detroit area to the Springfield, MO, area. I am now in the process of obtaining my initial teaching certificate through ABCTE, which is a MO DESE-approved route for initial teaching certification.
