Each student requires a different approach to teaching. With this in mind, I prefer to sit one on one and work from the bottom up to try to figure out exactly where some of the issues may be. Once you better understand what it is the student isn't following, you must find a new approach to explaining the topic and reviewing it. I also believe the student must research answers on his or her own. The ability to memorize something is helpful, but it is more important to know how to find the answer or work through an answer. Often times students just memorize answers without understanding the buildup to the answer.

I graduated Westfield State with my teaching degree. At that time there was a freeze on hiring teachers. I substitute taught for a while and then decided to get an office job. Being a teacher is something that I have wanted to do since I was a young girl. I would really like to get back into it and I believe this opportunity would help me to do that.
