A Little Bit About Me...

During my high school years I would volunteer to help children through various charities and church. When I attended college I became an Early Childhood Education major and volunteered in preschool and elementary schools. During my Student Teaching in Des Plaines I was in complete control of a Kindergarten classroom and later a 2nd Grade class. After graduating I began working in a daycare where I created activities for children as young as 3 years old and activities and homework help for elementary students as old as 13.
When I am teaching I am very patient and try to organize the lesson or my assistance in steps. I'll have the child read the problem or question, ask what they know about it, see if they understand the question and proceed. I have progressed from Research Engineer to Senior Research Associate over the course of 32 years in the U.S. Paper Industry. Eventually, I became a Product and Process Development Scientist working in Europe, Canada, and the Americas on long-range capital technical projects. I persisted in R&D until 2005, when I opted to start a brand-new career in Information Technology. After graduating with BSIT in 2006 Summa Cum Laude (4.00) from DeVry Chicago, I held jobs in database, programming, disaster recovery, and as an online instructor for DeVry. I attended Whitney Young High School and began tutoring while in school as a part of my volunteer service with the National Honor Society. I continued to teach while in college, and in fact, worked as a tutor part time. After college, I moved to Japan for one year and worked as an English teacher. When I returned to the United States, while attending law school, I was employed as a tutor for the LLM students.
