A Little Bit About Me...

I received my BA from Azusa Pacific University in 1994. In 1995, I worked full-time as a teacher while going to school at night and received my Multiple Subject Credential. I have been teaching in the public schools since 1994. I have taught 7th and 8th grade math, science, US History, and ESL. I have also taught Seriously Emotionally Disturbed children, 1st grade, 6th grade, and Kindergarten. I have a passion for teaching students to read because my own child has dyslexia. I understand the struggle it is for these children to succeed in school, so when i tutor, I use the Susan Barton Reading program, which is a multisensory approach to reading and phonics.
I truly enjoy when I get the chance to work one-on-one with a student. I am the kind of teacher you will see sitting on the floor with a student, acting things out in front of the class, making up songs to go with the curriculum ... read more
