My comments on tutoring Composition : I am a published writer in a few areas of composition. I have a passion for writing and I always encourage others to write.

I was a tutor in High School to the AVID students, I also volunteer tutored while attending junior college. I have experience helping mostly high school students but I feel comfortable and I am experienced enough to help middle school and elementary school children. I was also a nanny for close to 2 years and during that time, I tutored a teen who has Autism in all school subjects and was successful in helping her raise her grades and be able to study independently.
I am very hands on. I prefer to assess my students needs and then approach the subject to the area they specifically need help in. I have a lot of patience and am not afraid to spend a lot of time working on one or two things. If I can find a way, I like to make tutoring of studying a game or find easy ways to help my student(s) remember things better. Fun learning in my opinion, is the best way to learn.

Graduated with honors from Modesto Junior College with an Associates in Music. Four semesters of Piano at the college, five semesters of Voice, four semesters of Music Theory and ear training, four semesters of choir, and two semesters of Electronic Music. As a student I have a firm grasp on music fundamentals and the basics of music theory as well as some voice and piano pedagogy. In a one-on-one situation, I prefer dialogue. Assuming the student does the assigned work before the session, I find that a informal, relaxed conversation on the subject matter at hand encourages the student to further explore the addressed topic. If I am familiar with the student's extra-curricular interests, I attempt to relate the subject matter to such interests. I find that questioning the student in a conversational manner produces the best results, as opposed to the more stringent (i.e. boring) task of fill-in-the-blank worksheets. For writing assignments, I ask the student to write a paragraph which we then go over line-by-line so the student has immediate feedback on any errors.
