Resident Artist and an ASL PRO.

I am a resident artist. I have been an artist for the last 12 years. I have sold my art works in cafes and galleries in cities in: Washington, DC, Chicago, Milwaukee and Virginia. The mediums, I use are: oil pastels, Acrylic paints, ceramics, recycle materials, jewelry materials and more. I have taught children and adults of all ages. In the summer time, I direct art programs for summer camps. For sign language tutoring, I am fluent in ASL. I am completing my degree in ASL. I have been signing for 12 years. Everyone is an artist.

I have been teaching for the past two years in the art field and related. I taught at TIC Summer camp in the summer of 2012 how to use the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, etc.). I am currently working with an after school program that teaches children between the ages of 6 and 12 what goes behind videogame creation.
I use a personalized and 'hands-off'/demonstration style of teaching. I dislike telling a student that there is a certain method they should use, instead preferring to suggest and show how I would approach a problem or get them to approach a problem differently than how they are at that moment.

A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style is adaptive. Each person, especially in the field of art brings with them a skill level and an appreciation for a certain style. Children often are not taught the freedom of pursuing styles that are outside of the traditional realistic scope of artwork. I will teach my students the technical aspect of painting and drawing as well as the foundation they need to develop an individual identity.
