A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy teaching children especially teenagers. I enjoy setting a positve role model for them and for them to help each other on math subjects, reading, etc. I have volunteer respite program when I worked at Arizonas Children Association and have experience working as social worker in Behavioral health. During my senior year in high school, I tutored and mentored at a program named AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination). This program is designed to prepare students for college. My job was to help students with any subject they were having trouble with. Math was the most common subject that students needed help with the most. In high school I took geometry, algebra, and math analysis. Statistics is my highest level of college math. I believe that with my experience and knowledge in math I can be a successful math tutor.
I sit with students and ask them what they are having trouble with. I will then explain to them and make it as clear as possible so they can understand better the subject they are having trouble with. As a daughter of an elementary education teacher, I have been driven by a passion to teach children in areas where they show need. I am in my second year in Northern Arizona University with junior credits. My major is in Sociology, but I believe that helps me in pin-pointing the most important aspects of helping children individually in different social settings. A Little Bit About Me...
