I began teaching 22 years ago at a middle school and later taught high school when I relocated to the beach. I also tutored at a local community college. The most rewarding aspect of teaching and tutoring is when the lightbulb goes off at the crucial point of understanding in the student's mind. I have worked with the Milwaukee Public Schools since January 2007 as a Paraprofessional Educational Assistant. I assist students with challenging subjects as needed. Previous to working in the Milwaukee Public Schools District, I worked at the UW-Milwaukee Children’s Center as a teacher in a kindergarten classroom. I instructed students on reading, writing, math, science, and social studies. Through my courses at UW-Milwaukee, I have been placed in many field placements. In these field placements, I planned and implemented lesson plans.
I believe that every child can learn and be successful. Students all do not learn the same as the teacher, you need to change how you teach and present materials to get the attention of all of the learners in the classroom. Just recently, I worked with students in New Berlin, WI as part of the Junior Achivement program. While in High School and College, I worked with students in Madison at Whitehorse Middle School on Video Editing, PC Repair, Postmodernism, and Music. I have extensive skills in writing, grammar, spelling, public speaking, and knowledge in and of government--state and national/federal, specifically the Presidency.
