I will be getting my teaching certificate and degree in May 2010. I have worked with many students in grades 7-12 throughout my college experience. I am currently in my student teaching semester where I am teaching Advanced Math, Statistics, Topics in Mathematics, and three sections of Algebra 2. I have also been a Supplemental Instruction leader for Introduction to Statistics at Mount Vernon Nazarene University. I have loved teaching and still keep in touch with many of my former students. In fact, I have taught many of their children! I seem to end up helping students with more than just their homework. I have always had a talent for understanding that not everyone "gets it the first time." I had much trouble with science myself. When I was responsible for hiring teachers, I usually wasn't a fan of those with 4.0 averages. I was afraid they wouldn't have the patience to answer the same question 10 times!
